Once you contact us either through this website or by email, phone or social media we will ask you for your home address & contact details - we ask for these so we can arrange a home consultation with our HETAS engineer at the suitable date and time chosen by you. When our engineer meets you at your property he will accurately survey and assess your chimney and work with you in terms of your ideas & what is possible with regards to the heating requirements for your property, ultimately working with you, to create your dream fire.

Based on the data we collect our engineer will provide you with details of the best options available to you for your home and once your fire has been decided upon, and you have an accurate picture of the product itself, he will talk you through the entire, installation process, so that you know what to expect. Our engineer carries photos and information about the products we provide, as well as images of previous installations (including a step by step, image guide) we have completed for the purpose of showcasing the quality of our workmanship

When you fully understand the entire process & what's involved i.e fireplace removal, the reconstruction of the chimneybreast (builders opening) the time required for the installation, what chimney products are to be used, what building materials etc, the next step is to prepare for you a fixed quotation that will be sent to you, within 48 hours of the home consultation. At this time, we will be on hand, to discuss questions you might have, with regards to your quotation or the building work that is to take place. All questions you may have are welcomed.

Once the quotation has been accepted & you're happy to go ahead with the installation - an initial deposit will be required - should the total cost in materials & goods exceed, £500. A receipt is then issued to you when we have received your deposit!! We insist that all deposits are sent via bank transfer so there is a record of it. It is essential to us as a company, that our customers have total piece of mind when dealing with us. Your deposit is used to order up materials ( stove and fireplace etc ) and an installation date is agreed upon - in conjunction the with manufacturers lead times, yours and our own.

On installation day, we'll deliver your goods, along with everything that is required to fully install them properly, safely and more importantly, legally. The day will begin with us going over the installation with you and making you aware of any 'safety issues' - should there be any! Once you feel satisfied for the work to commence your fixtures, floor & furnishings will be completely covered, as a means to protect them from the installation as it is carried out. Any existing fireplace will be removed and the chimney is reconstructed / completed to house the new fire, the new flue and all of the other components.

When the installation is complete, or if the first working day has come to a close - our engineers - will clean up after themselves, and leave your home as it was upon them entering it. If an initial deposit has been taken, & the installation has been completed to satisfaction, the final balance, will now be required. Once payment has been accepted, our engineer will give a demonstration of your new fire and advise you on what type of fuel to burn. Whilst there, they will also answer any questions you might have and provide for you all your necessary documents, certification and other items if so required.

Once all of the measurements had been exercised the wood floor is cut out to make room for a constructional hearth, which is built up from the buildings foundation.

A set of stainless steel wall starter ties, are fixed to the exterior wall as a means to tie-in the block work and of  course the twin pillars ( jambs ) of the chimney breast.

The jambs, of the block chimney breast are built and a set, of double concrete lintels are fitted. A hole is cut in the exterior wall for the twin-wall system to enter / exit.

The false chimney breast is completed. Every block is levelled, joints are pointed up and the chimney breast is level & built square to the back wall of the building. 

The false chimney breast, is then sheeted, joints taped up and plastered and finally painted. The sub-hearth is leveled to the floor - in preparation for the brick hearth.

The first few courses of brick are built on the floor for the hearth. In this case, our customer, has chosen a nice reclaimed brick. The bricks are levelled and set.

The hearth is continually built and pointed up until it is completed. It is essential, that this hearth is level in all directions so as to not have the stove rock when fitted 

With the hearth now completely built and also pointed up, the fire board chamber is fitted / completed. Once 

it is set it can be painted so as to complete the breast.

At this point during the installation, everything is pretty much left to dry out. Once it has, the twin-wall flue can then be installed through the wall with a stove fixing kit

Once the chamber has been sealed and painted, the stove is then installed and connected to the twin-wall system. A wooden beam is fitted - completing inside.

Now that the twinwall flue system has been connected to the stove and has exited up the external wall, it can thus be constructed & securely fixed to the gable end.

The flue system, as can be seen here, is diverted past the window, by means of an offset. A cowl is fitted and a cover plate and the chimney system is ready for use.
