A CHOICE OF 3 COLOURS
The hearth consists of 2 slabs, both of which are 900mm x 600mm.
The hearth slabs are cut onsite to suit the chimney dimensions and then installed onto a mortar base. The sandstone slabs are coated on the underside with PVA so as to not have the moisture from the mortar mix come through & stain the slabs surface. The back limestone hearth is oiled, as can be seen in the image to the right, however, it can be left unstained if preferred. We can seal the sandstone hearths for protection if asked but we prefer to leave them as they are, since sealing them, tends to darken them down a touch and we feel that this ruins the 'natural look' of the stone!!

The beauty of these oak beams is written in its individual characteristics which can include cracks shakes and waney edges, knots, sticker shadows, twists, bows and more. Each separate beam, boasts its own unique feature, meaning that no two beams are the same.
Oak sleepers are an 'air dried' timber. This means that the beautiful cracks, features & the character of the timber will most likely continue to move until the, Oak is in perfect equilibrium with its new environment. During this time, you may see cracks, splits, bows and twists continuing to develop. Placing the, Oak beam above or near to a heat source can cause this movement to exaggerate the timbers natural features further. This 'movement' is completely normal & simply enhances the natural beauty of the timber.
This ultimately results in a feature in your home that is truly one of a kind.
